Because of the war that has lasted since 2014, the Yemenis are facing the worst humanitarian catastrophe in the world. Since the beginning of the conflict in one of the poorest countries in the world, international initiatives to stop fighting or temporarily stop fighting have not ceased. The actions of the new US administration and President Joe Biden will be key to the success of the peace process. A possible resumption of P5 + 1 talks with Iran and negotiations between the parties under the auspices of the United Nations may, in some perspective, contribute to the de-escalation of the conflict in Yemen – writes Witold Śmidowski in his analysis “Civil war in Yemen.
