„In the case of Ukraine, the stance of European countries is important, but the position of the USA is decisive,” said Janusz Reiter, Chairman of the CSM Council, in an interview for the WP portal [13.07.2023]
If the USA maintains a certain distance on the matter, it practically marks the end of the discussion. While America’s support alone may not be sufficient, it is difficult to push through anything significant without it. Sometimes, the Americans have to persuade their European allies to adopt their position. Concerning Ukraine, the attitude of European countries matters, but the stance of the USA is crucial. They have the largest share in providing military aid to Ukraine, stated Janusz Reiter, former Polish ambassador to Berlin and Washington.
