“It seems to me that this is the beginning of the end of this initiative, and that Intel won’t return to this investment in two years.” – Dr. Małgorzata Bonikowska, President of the Centre for International Relations, in an interview with TOK fm on the future of Intel’s frozen investment in Poland.

Dr. Małgorzata Bonikowska, President of the Centre for International Relations, said in an interview with TOK fm radio: “It should be emphasized that this was a risk from the very beginning, as Intel has been struggling financially for years. It’s not a matter of the last few weeks, but at least a few years, in which the company seems to have failed to keep up with new investment trends, other than traditional chip manufacturing, in which it has always been very good.

In my opinion, this has caused the slump. It’s not just the recent financial results that are worrying; on the stock market, the company’s value has fallen by more than half. This is terrible for investors and is a clear signal of a very bad situation for the company. Layoffs had been going on for years, so it was clear that something bad was happening at the giant.

A plan for such an investment could have been a way out of a difficult situation, but I’m afraid it was too late. At this point, I don’t believe in this Intel investment in Poland. It seems to me that this is the beginning of the end for this initiative, and I wouldn’t delude myself that Intel will be back at it in two years.”
