Dr Małgorzata Bonikowska, President of the Centre for International Relations (CSM), said on Newsroom WP:

“We do not really know what is going on inside Putin’s mind. I believe he constantly fears potential coups, especially since the Prigozhin affair, which certainly shocked the world — but first and foremost, it shocked Putin himself and his inner circle. A man from within his closest ranks dared to ‘march on Moscow’. Since then, Putin has lived in a state of permanent anxiety about possible moves against him, all the more so as war always creates conditions for various forms of upheaval.”

The discussion focused on the leaders of Russia and the United States and their respective strategies in negotiations over Ukraine.
