On air at Trójka – Polish Radio 3, Dr Bruno Surdel, analyst at the Centre for International Relations, said:
“The corruption scandal in Ukraine has been revealed at an exceptionally difficult moment – just as the fighting around Pokrovsk grows more intense and war fatigue across the West becomes increasingly visible. In many European countries, strained budgets and domestic economic pressures are making support for Ukraine a political battleground increasingly exploited by populist forces. In this climate, any corruption case in Kyiv becomes a serious blow to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s international image and to the broader cause of defending Ukraine against Russian aggression.”
