Marcin Jacoby

Dr. hab., professor at SWPS University. Member of the Asian Observatory at the Centre for International Relations. Sinologist, translator, and literary scholar. Expert on the political and social issues of East Asia, particularly China and the Republic of Korea. He is interested in the historical and cultural sources of the changes and processes taking place in this region of the world. His academic specialization is classical Chinese literature and the culture of ancient China. He speaks contemporary and classical Chinese and translates works of Chinese literature into Polish.

At SWPS University, he serves as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and heads the Department of Asian Studies and the Center for East Asian Civilizations. He teaches courses on China and East Asia: literature, culture, and art.
