On 2 September 2025, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Hà Hoàng Hải, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Centre for International Relations had the honour to take part in the celebrations held in Warsaw to mark the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s declaration of independence.
Vietnam’s National Day commemorates the historic event of 2 September 1945, when in Hanoi Chairman Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the Declaration of Independence, laying the foundations of the modern Vietnamese state.
The celebrations in Warsaw provided an opportunity to bring together representatives of diplomacy, politics, business, and the expert community, and to highlight the friendship and cooperation between Poland and Vietnam.
