This time the Warsaw Debate has taken the thesis: “Democracy is doomed” and the guests of hosts dr Małgorzata Bonikowska, CIR’s President, and Grzegorz Nawrocki, from TVP World, have tried to defend or deny it.
Those in favor were: Prof. Wawrzyniec Konarski– Rector of Vistula University, political scientist, expert in nationalism and ethno-politics and Prof. Radosław Markowski– Political scientist and sociologist, Polish Academy of Sciences
Those against were: Dr. Piotr Arak– Chief Economist at VeloBank, expert in macroeconomics and transatlantic policy and Klaudia Klimek– Founder of the Jewrnalism Foundation, civic activist supporting democratic engagement
We were joined online by Dr. Ibrahim Öztürk- the University of Duisburg-Essen, economist specializing in populism and global development models., who wrapped up the debate.
