“There is a prevailing belief in Europe that the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine could lead to an escalation of the conflict, which nobody wants. However, these ‘red lines’ continue to shift, so the West might take more decisive action,” said Dr Małgorzata Bonikowska, President of the Centre for International Relations (CSM), in an interview with Radio Svoboda.
In the context of potential NATO military involvement, Dr Bonikowska also noted:
“Korean soldiers have appeared in Ukraine, which signifies direct participation by a third country on Russia’s side. The West recognises the need to respond to this situation. Discussions are underway regarding the possibility of sending instructors from coalition countries, such as British personnel. The French President already suggested in the spring that NATO should consider deploying ground troops to Ukraine.”
