Janusz Reiter, The first Founder and Founding Father

Specialisation: European Union, Germany, USA, transatlantic relationsA former journalist, he served as Polish Ambassador to both the United States and Germany, playing a decisive role in reshaping Polish-German relations following the end of the Cold War.

Ambassador Reiter is the author of several books and policy papers dealing with European and transatlantic issues. He contributes regularly to major Polish and international newspapers, among them the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Wall Street Journal. In 1995, Ambassador Reiter was awarded the Great Federal Cross with Star and Ribbon by the Federal President of Germany. He is also the recipient of the Honorary Award of the European University Viadrina and holds an honorary degree from the College of the Atlantic in the United States.
