Prof. Maciej Nowicki, Expert

Specialisation: climate policy

Professor in technical sciences, ecologist, social activist. He served as the Deputy Minister of Environment (1989-91) and the Minister of Environment of Poland (1991, 2007-10). He was also the Vice-President of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and the advisor of the OECD Secretary-General. Prof. Nowicki was representing Poland in the European Commission as well. He is an author of ca. 190 publications concerning environmental issues. Prof. Nowicki was awarded with “Der Deutsche Umweltpreis” prize (so called “the environmental Nobel Prize”).
