The Climate and Energy Program - about program
About the program
CIR has been active in raising the awareness of politicians, opinion formers and the general public on climate change and related issues for over a year.
A team of young people, which assisted the Polish Climate Ambassador Janusz Reiter to foster the role of Poland as a leader in the climate negotiations and were a part of the official Polish delegation to UNFCCC COP14 in Poznan, strengthened CIR by forming an independent think-tank on climate and energy. The team consists of Polish professionals with expertise in law, economy, international relations and environmental protection.
Currently, the think-tank builds platforms to support a constructive, well-informed public debate to advance new directions in the Polish energy and climate context through the development of high quality independent research, provided to relevant Polish audiences in the form of practical recommendations. We conduct research and analyses, provide information and expertise to members of the Polish government, parliamentarians, other decision makers, public administration and opinion formers by organizing formal and informal meetings on the national and international levels. We work closely with the media by enhancing and promoting a national debate, delivering messages formulated to different audiences, drawing attention to important topics, events and experts.
To bring best practices in the field of climate and energy areas closer to Poland, the Climate and Energy Team cooperates with a number of stakeholders including representatives of the Polish government, public administration, NGOs, media, a number of foreign embassies, foreign and national institutions, organizations and companies.
