Program Migracje i Bezpieczeństo Wewnętrzne - Opis programu

The Program’s activities revolve around the issues that concern the development of the European area of freedom, security and justice (AFSJ) and Poland’s role within it as an EU border state. Research areas include: migratory flows of workers and refugees along the European East-West axis, problems related to Poland’s transition from an emigration country into an immigration and transit one, as well as links between the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), the European Security Defense Policy (ESDP) and internal security issues.

The Program encompasses, among others, the following projects:

  • Poland as an EU border country
  • The division of competences and the shape of European institutions and integration mechanisms in the security area
  • European Security and terrorism – the Polish perspective
  • One pillar or two – the rationale of the traditional division of external and internal security in the era of globalization and terrorism
  • Priorities and national separatisms and the AFSJ project
  • New information technologies – “Big Brother” or the inevitable price of living in an area of freedom and security
  • European security in light of the problems of integration of immigrants in the new member states and the dilemma of multiculturalism.
  • Polish migration policy and migration management systems
  • The ‘brain drain’ from the new EU member states – is it a real danger
