8 grudnia 2008 roku w Brukseli odbyła się konferencja "European Opportunity for Ukraine - Future of the Eastern Partnership", zorganizowana przez Urząd Komitetu Integracji Europejskiej, Biuro Rządu Republiki Czeskiej we współpracy z: The European Council of Foreign Relations (ECFR), Centrum Stosunków Międzynarodowych, Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI) - Czechy, The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF US) - Bruksela.

The conference will gather European leaders and policymakers currently involved in key European projects concerning the Eastern Neighbourhood.
We are convinced that the timing of the conference and the list of distinguished contributors provide us with an excellent platform for discussing the present stage of EU involvement in the Eastern Partnership and concrete projects within the framework of this initiative. There are two debates foreseen in the programme of the conference: “Eastern Partnership – The European Opportunity for Eastern Partners” and “EU´s Eastern Partnership: How to Proceed in 2009?”. The meeting will start with a presentation of a report Accelerating Ukraine’s European Integration by Professor Alan Mayhew.
